I confess: initially I did it only for business.
I began to sew the cape for Holy Sepulchre Knights - and also for Ladies - seeing the possibility of bringing a new and better product to a wide audience of potential customers.

Nevertheless, the more I progressed, the more I became aware of the evident sloppiness that widespread in this field.
I just couldn't understand how it was possible for a professional or a soldier (in general, a person used to dressing in a certain way) to wear those capes, so heavy and ugly that they seem to be homemade, in the worst possible way.
Because after all, I believe that if a cape for Holy Sepulchre Knight is given to you, then you take it as gift, for what it looks like.
But if you have to pay for it, then you have to demand the best.
I'm sure that no one would buy a jacket or a cape sewn like the cape you see in these photos.

The capes for Holy Sepulchre Knight that you can find on the market, usually, have 3 clear defects.
I’ll try to make a short list of them, so that recognizing them, you can pay attention when you’re purchasing a cape for Holy Sepulchre Knight:

Many times I had to replace the big frogs closure you can see in the picture above, replacing them with the smaller and more intertwined ones I use for my capes for Holy Sepulchre Knight. The use of the frogs closure on the cape for Holy Sepulchre Knight is absolutely not a marginal aspect.

I advise you to carefully observe the internal seams.
The first seam is the one that locks the lining to the fabric. Usually this is a rough hand stitching that easily frays over time. And then you'll have a detached lining that's difficult to take in.

Also observe the internal seam that joins the two pieces of the back of the cape for Holy Sepulchre Knight.
You will also notice that, in order not to waste fabric, many manufacturers also leave the selvedge. This is to say that they leave the fabric frayed.

I am sure that any Holy Sepulchre Knight or Lady, when buys a cape or jacket, is willing to tolerate such an approximation.

How is it possible, however, that this happens on a uniform that is used in a religious context?

Just as in recent years the sloppiness has begun to creep into the sacristies of our churches, manifesting itself through cheap and ugly sacred vestments, in the same way the uniform of the Holy Sepulchre knights has become a cheap cape to wear without care, when necessary.

Now I see a trend reversal.

But this can not be done "by decree". This true revolution of style and beauty must start from all of us, even in our small daily choices.
The rejection of the approximation, of the compromise and of the subterfuge.
This is the direction. And so, even in the choice of the cape for the Holy Sepulchre Knight, things can change.
